Frozen II (2020)
After the phenomenal success of Frozen, wondering, “will they make a sequel?” it would be stupid. Retelling the “Snow Queen” in a new way collected more than $ 1.2 billion at the box office and became the highest grossing animated film in history (except for the remake of The Lion King). Naturally, in this situation, the second part was inevitable, and not to say that its plot would have to be sucked out of the finger. The original left several questions that it would be good to answer: for example, where did Elsa's magical powers come from and where did her parents swim before the deep sea swallowed them at one moment.
It was the answers that the writers of Frozen 2 took up. Not to say that they turned out an impeccably folding story, but at least it reveals all the secrets that hung in the first part, and certainly will delight fans of the original.
After Anna and Elsa melted Arendelle and prevented eternal winter, there was peace and quiet in the kingdom. The sisters get along very well, Kristoff is ripe for making an offer to Anna, and Olaf has time and opportunity to reflect on philosophical issues like the difficulties of growing up.
However, peaceful life did not last long. One day, Elsa hears a mysterious voice that calls her into the Enchanted Forest - the mysterious land where the spirits of nature live. In addition to all these, these spirits make an earthquake in Arendelle, drain waterfalls and send cold winds: in general, they do everything to make the kingdom unsuitable for life. And you can appease the raging elements only by going to the forest and finding out why, many years ago, local residents treacherously attacked the peaceful delegation of Hrendell, led by the king himself.
Naturally, Anna refuses to let her sister go alone, and Kristoff cannot leave an unwary sweetheart unattended, so the company as a whole (including Olaf and the sarcastic deer Sven) sets off to meet new adventures.

In fact, in a brief retelling, the plot sounds more harmonious and logical than appears in the film. Somewhere until the middle of the sequel, it crumbles into a series of brightly scattered scenes and musical numbers, somehow woven into a living thread of lingering intrigue. The “watched” spectator quickly recognizes in the lyrics the ancient motive of the “hero’s path” and realizes that he is waiting for him further ... but the problem is not even the erased history (is it really a Disney movie to blame for this?), But that the plot is more often pronounced, what is supported by events.
Here Olaf talks about growing up, about how the Enchanted Forest changed each of them - just so that not a bit changes in the final credits. Here Elsa sings that she wants to step into the unknown, because she supposedly does not feel in her place, but this inner conflict is no longer expressed in anything. And he undertook, frankly, from nowhere, exclusively at the request of the scriptwriters. Elsa, adored by the people, seems to live happily with her beloved sister, and her strength is under reliable control. And then in the song Into the Unknown, the pious queen suddenly declares that she is ready to send everything to such and such a mother and break into a quest for adventure. And after all, the song is wonderful and will probably sound from every iron, like Let It Go. Yes, and the final transformation of Elsa shows that the heroine really had a place to grow ... but to write to the character at the beginning a real internal conflict that would set the starting point for her spiritual journey, as if forgotten.

Another dubious moment - some heroes look like useless ballast. The same Kristoff in the original did not play the role of a savior on a white deer (and well), but here he turned into a very comedic character that girls could easily leave at home. He does not make any significant contribution to the plot, except for several funny scenes, and his main mission is to make Anna an offer, without spoiling the romantic moment by his own stupidity. Seriously, that’s all. They are even separated from the princess very taut and ridiculous: purely so that they do not get confused, because the hero did not find a worthy place in this story.
Anna herself doesn’t give a damn about the groom: she does not consult with him, does not ask for help, throws him without hesitation in a strange forest to trail behind Elsa with her tail. It’s clear that touching Disney heroines aren’t in fashion today ... but when you are once again convinced that Anna’s sister and snowman are more precious than her lover, you sincerely wish Kristoff to abandon this eccentric girl.

Anna, however, does not consult with anyone at all - this is not a royal matter
Despite this, I don’t want to seriously scold the sequel - because the cartoon is in full order with humor, ideological stuffing, small details and staging of individual scenes.
